**JOB SUMMARY**The Security Officer (unarmed) performs duties that ensure the safety and security of the Saint Louis University community members by performing security duties at specifically assigned posts.**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*** Controls access to the building in compliance with policy and process* Monitors and reports all conditions that create security or safety hazards for building occupants and guests* Assists in building occupants and guests as required while complying with established policies and processes* Performs other duties as assigned**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*** Knowledge of security reporting and procedures* Knowledge of general security functions and procedures* Excellent verbal and written communications skills* Excellent customer service skills* Ability to work assigned schedule* Ability to maintain honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and professional relationships **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*** High School Diploma or the equivalent* One to two years related experience* Successful completion of a drug screen & background check* Must possess or be able to obtain upon hire an unarmed security/officer license with St. Louis City/County Police Private Security Division; must maintain Licensure throughout the tenure of the position* Must be 21 years of age**HOURLY PAY:**$17.50 per hour**Function**Public Safety OfficersScheduled Weekly Hours:40Saint Louis University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
