Tech Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect (x2) - ContractLocation: Barcelona, Spain (hybrid/onsite as required). Rate: ~€450/day (flexible for strong candidates). We’re looking for 2 highly experienced Tech Lead / Senior Data Engineering Architects to lead the design and delivery of an enterprise-scale data platform. You’ll drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and work with stakeholders across multiple time zones to deliver secure, scalable, compliant data solutions for analytics and BI.Must-have skillsData Mesh (core concepts and practical implementation)Snowflake (architecture, performance tuning, security, cost optimisation)AWS (hands-on delivery experience)dbt (ELT framework design and best practices)Strong Python and advanced SQL (complex query optimisation)Proven data engineering / data architecture backgroundKey responsibilitiesOwn end-to-end data platform architecture and delivery (Snowflake-led)Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt and cloud-native toolingEstablish standards (modelling, naming, governance, quality, lineage, cataloguing)Implement CI/CD & DataOps practices (testing, deployment, monitoring)Partner with general stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutionsEnsure GDPR and related compliance requirements are metProvide technical leadership and mentoring across the engineering teamNice to haveOrchestration (e.g., Airflow or similar)Data lake / lakehouse exposureBI tooling (Tableau / Power BI)Regulated-industry experience
