Their mission is to address the challenges of achieving a sustainable future by innovating to reduce the production, storage, and synergy costs of renewable energy.Job SummaryWe are looking to hire a Technical Design Manager who can work from home and support our Grid and Project Development Teams on a portfolio of projects across the EU. The role is part of a highly capable Renewable Project Development team and will contribute to our expansion into new markets.ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects related to power system network design, including application, negotiations, and optimization from a technical and financial perspective up to financial close and beyond.Lead engineering feasibility studies and optimize the engineering solution to provide value engineering.Support the design of large‑scale energy storage plants such as sizing equipment rating, technical specifications, and general design (SLD, layout, etc.). Review and challenge contractor (ICP & BoP) design and engineering deliverables when appropriate.Carry out power/electrical system studies including performance assessment for design assurance, and transient and dynamic stability studies.Continue to develop power system design networks from 400kV down to LV to support business engineering design and decision‑making processes.Support the business development and procurement teams with technical or technical‑economic analysis for tenders.Support the project delivery teams during the basic and detailed design phases, construction, and commissioning.Ensure technical queries are correctly assessed and responded to.Perform engineering tasks and implement engineering best practices.Assist in reviewing key engineering deliverables performed by third‑party consultants and contractors.Own or lead technical design standards and practices using tools such as BIM, 3D CAD design, and Digital Twins.Essential CompetenciesProven experience in electrical network design; experience in designing renewable systems is advantageous.Excellent understanding of power system engineering.Project management experience, including budgeting and engineering capex management.Fundamental understanding of power system network design and renewable connection design from 400kV down to renewable site LV involving technologies such as AIS & GIS substation, grid‑forming inverters, and control systems.Experience and knowledge of relevant software programs such as DigSilent Power Factory, BIM360, Revit, and AutoCAD 3D.Understanding of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) network and design requirements for all electrical equipment in the context of energy storage and renewable installations (interference between equipment, blast and fire safety, general access and egress for installation and ongoing O&M).A genuine passion for clean energy and our social and environmental mission.Some working experience in engineering, system planning, or consultancy in the energy sector (B2B), preferably in energy storage or renewables sectors.Desire to work in a fast‑moving, high‑pressure and entrepreneurial environment.Benefits and CompensationWe offer a strong base compensation and a tailor‑made incentive package, including cash bonuses and other benefits depending on the role level.Working EnvironmentThis is a real long‑term opportunity to work with experienced professionals and utilize experience gained in a dynamic and friendly environment that puts people at the centre.
