Preply has one of the largest and most diverse tutor communities in online learning. As we expand into new markets, new subjects, and new learner segments, we’re focused on building the Supply foundations that make expansion work in practice – so tutors can be discovered, matched, and succeed through a clear lifecycle and high‑quality experience.
As an Expansion Lead within Supply Operations, you’ll own the Supply side of Expansion end‑to‑end, working in close partnership with the Expansion squad and representing Supply in cross‑functional planning and decisions. You’ll collaborate with Product, Data, Growth, and other Supply teams to build the foundations that make expansion work in practice – liquidity, categorisation and matching, quality definitions, and tutor lifecycle improvements for new verticals like non‑language subjects and segments like kids.
What you’ll be doing:
Own the Supply side of Preply’s expansion agenda end‑to‑end across new markets, verticals, and segments, with a focus on liquidity, tutor quality, and lifecycle readinessRepresent Supply in the Expansion squad and cross‑functional planning, ensuring Supply implications shape priorities, sequencing, and launch requirementsStructure ambiguous expansion problems into clear plans, workstreams, and decisions, coordinating Supply teams and key partnersLead cross‑functional delivery with Product, Data, Growth, and Supply Ops to make expansion launches supply‑ready for students and workable for tutorsIdentify the biggest supply gaps and opportunities for each expansion bet, and drive the right solutionsImprove foundations for new verticals (e.g., categorisation, discoverability, matching) to improve learner and tutor experienceEvolve tutor quality standards for new verticals and segments, including requirements, criteria, and checks where neededReview the end‑to‑end tutor lifecycle for new verticals and work with teams to strengthen it over timeSet clear success metrics and build dashboards for expansion supply health (e.g., liquidity/coverage, quality signals, funnel health)Propose new expansion opportunities by challenging assumptions, testing new approaches, and bringing ideas that unlock growth and improve tutor experience
What you need to succeed:
6–8+ years of experience in strategy & operations, consulting, marketplaces, or high‑growth tech rolesProven track record leading cross‑functional initiatives end‑to‑end, with clear examples of shipping outcomesStrong problem structuring skills: can break down ambiguous topics into clear goals, options, and roadmapsExcellent program/project management: structured planning, dependency management, risk mitigation and follow‑through across multiple workstreamsStrong stakeholder management and influence: able to align senior partners, drive decisions, and handle trade‑offsData‑driven and analytical: can size opportunities, define KPIs, interpret results, and turn insights into actions (Excel/Sheets required; SQL is a plus)Hands‑on and outcome‑focused: sets direction, unblocks teams, and ensures things get deliveredStrong communication skills: clear writing, crisp updates, and simple documentation that keeps teams alignedComfortable with ambiguity and moving fast with imperfect information while keeping quality highCurious and creative: challenges assumptions, brings new ideas, and tests practical approaches
Nice to have:
SQL and BI fluency (e.g., Looker)Marketplace or platform experience supporting a large base of supply partners (tutors, creators, sellers, drivers, etc)Passion for education and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the EdTech industry
