Prestage Farms is family owned, industry leading, and dedicated to continuing our legacy of integrity and innovation in pork and turkey production.Prestage Farms is seeking a veterinarian for our Iowa Division based in Ames, Iowa. This position will be responsible for providing veterinary service, support, and care for Prestage farms of Iowa wean to finish operations including but not limited to:ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and implementation of biosecurity protocolsDevelopment of plans to address health issues and concernsDevelop and implement vaccine strategiesCoordinate and participate in diagnostic sample collection and result summationMaintain prescriptions and VFDs records and complianceAssist with maintaining SHIP requirementsMaintain PQA+ advisor certification and perform trainings as necessaryTrain caretakers on herd health issues, biosecurity, proper antibiotic and vaccine useQualificationsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from accredited school or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student in their last semester; emphasis on swine productionLicensed or ability to become licensed in all states where Prestage Farms operates (AL, MS, SC, NC, OK, TX, IA)This position will also require monthly travel to Prestage Farms of Oklahoma (farrow to finish operation) to fulfill and maintain interstate swine movement requirements in addition to the above listed responsibilitiesBenefitsAffordable Family Health InsurancePaid Time OffCompany Paid Life Insurance401(k)Short Term DisabilitySavings Account Contributions
