Descripción de la oferta
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Electronic Engineer to architect and design the physical hardware of our next-generation, ruggedized OpenVPX computing platforms. This is a high-impact role requiring a deep "ruggedized mindset" to serve as the technical authority on board-level design, focusing on high-speed signal integrity, power delivery, and thermal survivability.
You will be responsible for integrating state-of-the-art Intel Core Ultra and NVIDIA GPUs into physical modules that can survive the most extreme environments on earth. This is a permanent, strategic position. You will not just be looking at a circuit; you will take ownership of the physical integrity of the hardware, ensuring our designs maintain flawless performance under severe environmental stress.
Key Responsibilities
Ruggedized Hardware Design: Lead the schematic capture and guide the PCB layout of complex 3U OpenVPX modules, ensuring strict alignment with VITA standards.
High-Speed Integrity: Architect hardware designs that maintain flawless signal integrity for PCIe Gen 5 and 10G/40G Ethernet across VPX backplane connectors.
Power & Thermal Management: Design robust power distribution networks (VITA 62) and collaborate with mechanical engineers for optimal component placement and heat dissipation in conduction-cooled systems.
Physical Layer Debugging: Troubleshoot complex board-level issues using 16GHz+ Oscilloscopes and VNAs to solve signal degradation, jitter, or power anomalies.
Root Cause Analysis: Perform deep-dive RCA on physical hardware failures under environmental stress, implementing immediate corrective actions.
Required Technical Skills
Core Hardware Stack: Deep knowledge of OpenVPX, PCIe Gen 4/5, high-speed fiber routing, and VITA 62 power standards.
Hardware Tools: Expert-level proficiency with Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), high-end Oscilloscopes (16GHz+), and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs) for signal characterization.
Design Tools: High proficiency in schematic capture and guiding complex, high-density PCB layouts.
Professional Experience
8–10+ years of hands-on experience in complex, high-speed digital and mixed-signal hardware design.
Proven track record of successfully designing hardware for ruggedized, conduction-cooled, or aerospace/defense applications.
Extensive experience isolating electrical faults at both the discrete component and backplane level.
Soft Skills
Analytical Rigor: A deeply ingrained analytical ability to deconstruct complex signal integrity issues and power delivery anomalies to find the root cause.
Collaborative Design: Excellent ability to work seamlessly with mechanical and thermal engineers to optimize physical board layouts.
Typical Experience
8 to 10+ years.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
