Mission
At IBA (Ion Beam Applications), we are world leaders in proton therapy—an advanced form of radiation therapy that enables precise, targeted treatment of cancer while sparing healthy tissue. Each proton therapy center we build combines cutting-edge technology, complex infrastructure, and close collaboration with hospital teams. The installation and operational launch of these systems require dedication, precision, and a strong partnership mindset.
As Site Leader, you will take full responsibility for on-site proton therapy technology and operations, ensuring technical service excellence, patient safety, and strong customer relationships. You will act as both a technical expert and a strategic partner, driving performance, developing your team, and going the extra mile to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality service, solving issues proactively, improving processes, and maintaining safe and efficient operations that meet IBA’s standards.
This role is based on site (in Santiago de Compostela), with openness to travel for training and support purposes.

Operational Leadership
Lead and coordinate all on-site proton therapy operations
Ensure high system availability and technical service excellence
Drive operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed
Safety & Compliance
Ensure patient safety and operational compliance at all times
Enforce IBA standards, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements
Promote a strong safety-first culture across the site
Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies
Serve as the primary on-site contact for hospital stakeholders
Build and maintain strong, trust-based customer relationships
Ensure customer requirements are met with professionalism and responsiveness
Proactively resolve operational or service issues
Lead, coach, and develop the team on-site professionals
Foster engagement, accountability, and high performance
Support team training and competency development
Encourage collaboration within the site and across other IBA locations
Communication & Coordination
Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external partners
Coordinate installation, maintenance, and support activities
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of site operations
What we value
Degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, Mechanics, or related technical field
Proven experience leading technical service or operational teams (at least 2 years of experience in people management)
Experience in high-availability or mission-critical environments preferred
Exposure to industrial, healthcare, or medical technology environments is a plus
Strong technical background with hands‑on capability (at least 2‑3 years of experience in maintenance and hands‑on tasks)
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Analytical problem‑solving and root cause analysis capability
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Customer‑focused and solution‑oriented mindset
High level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability
Ability to manage complexity in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment
