Experteer Overview
In this Senior Data Engineer role, you will design and guarantee the reliability and scalability of Flywire’s data platforms that power payment intelligence and AI initiatives. You’ll treat data as a product and apply IaC to support data science and analytics teams. The role blends SRE, data engineering, and AI infrastructure to deliver robust, observable, and cost-efficient data systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable secure, real-time data and AI-driven insights that scale globally.

• Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for data platforms; design automated self-healing systems and alerting to minimize MTTR
• Design and maintain infrastructure, feature stores, and scalable API/data pipelines for AI agents to access data securely
• Lead Cloud Infrastructure as Code design and deployment (Terraform) across GCP/AWS for reproducible, secure environments
• Architect CI/CD automation for data workflows, dbt transformations, and infrastructure deployments with GitLab
• Implement data observability and cost optimization through advanced monitoring of queries and resource usage
• Build and optimize real-time streaming data infrastructure (Apache Beam, Flink, Pub/Sub) for predictive AI models
• Automate security, access control (RBAC/ABAC), and data lineage within the infrastructure
Responsabilidades
• 7+ years in Data Engineering with at least 2 years in a Senior/Lead capacity
• SRE and observability expertise in data contexts
• Experience collaborating with Data Science teams or implementing AI infrastructure connectivity
• Strong Cloud IaC experience with Terraform in GCP or AWS
• Hands-on DevOps experience with Docker/Kubernetes and complex CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient in Python, SQL, dbt, and Airflow (GCP Composer)
• Streaming data experience with Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Beam, or Flink
