ph3Job Description /h3 pJob Title: Secondary Maths teacher with ability to teach iGCSE and A Level /p pReporting to: School Head of secondary /p h3Job Summary /h3 pA Secondary Math Teacher with ability to teach iGCSE and A Level level role who consistently works towards outstanding performance across all professional standards, ensuring safeguarding and successful pupil outcomes. Pastoral opportunities may be available. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Planning, Teaching and Class Management /h3 ul liIdentifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed. /li liSetting tasks, which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest. /li liSetting appropriate and demanding expectations. /li liSetting clear targets, building on prior attainment. /li liIdentifying SEN or very able pupils. /li liProviding clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge. /li liMaking effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study. /li liEnsuring effective teaching and best use of available time. /li liMonitoring and intervening to ensure sound learning and behaviour for learning using the school´s policies and procedures. /li liUsing a variety of teaching and learning methods to meet the needs of all pupils across all subjects. /li liEvaluating your own teaching critically to improve effectiveness. /li liManaging other adults in the classroom as appropriate. /li /ul h3Monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting /h3 ul liAssess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching. /li liMark and monitor pupil’s work and set targets for progress. /li liAssess and record pupil’s progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and weaknesses, inform planning and recognise the level at which the pupil is achieving. /li liPrepare and present informative reports to parents. /li /ul h3Pastoral care /h3 ul liUndertaking pastoral and tutorial duties, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties; monitor attendance and punctuality and report any concerns to Parents and Head of Key Stage as appropriate. /li /ul h3Other Professional Requirements Are To /h3 ul liOperate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school. /li liEndeavour to give every child the opportunity to reach their potential and meet high expectations. /li liContribute to the life of the school through effective participation in meetings and management systems necessary to co-ordinate the management of the school. /li liEnsure your own professional development. /li liDevelop appropriate liaison with all teaching and support staff. /li liLiaise effectively with parents and actively promote their involvement in the life of the school. /li liActively lead and develop the subject area as part of the wider, extra-curricular offer. /li /ul h3PERSON SPECIFICATION /h3 h3Essential /h3 h3Education and Skills /h3 ul liFully qualified teacher. /li liExcellent classroom management skills and able to follow the school’s disciplinary code. /li liExcellent subject knowledge. /li liFull understanding of Equal Opportunities and able to implement in everyday practice.
