Overview Production Planning Analyst – Global Finance Solutions (GFS). Amazon is a US-based multinational e-commerce company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. We are seeking a Production Planning Analyst to support our Production Planning Team (PPT). The Production Planning Analyst will play a key role in ensuring Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers (FCs) and Delivery Stations operate with robust, cost-effective, and scalable labor plans. This role partners closely with multiple stakeholders and leverages data-driven insights to recommend optimal hourly staffing plans and shift structures across regions. The ideal candidate is analytical, technically skilled, and passionate about improving planning accuracy and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Partner with senior stakeholders to influence network-level strategic planning decisions. Develop and maintain accurate hourly staffing plans and shift structures across Fulfillment Centers and Delivery Stations. Support input forecasting using trend analysis and statistical modeling to enable data-driven decision-making. Own production planning, cost optimization, and service optimization for the WWOps. Build short-, medium-, and long-term operational plans to minimize variable labor costs while maintaining service levels. Analyze complex business problems, identify root causes, and recommend forward-looking solutions. Communicate complex analyses and insights clearly to business leaders through written and verbal communication. Collaborate cross-functionally with FC Operations leadership, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Transportation, and Software Development teams. Participate in global operational and production planning initiatives and support project rollouts aligned with business growth. Drive process improvements and standardization across planning workflows and network sites. Basic Qualifications Strong analytical background with experience in data analysis and operational planning. Experience using data to support forecasting, planning, and business decision-making. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at various leadership levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in production planning, workforce planning, supply chain, or operations analytics. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, or other analytical and visualization tools. Experience working in a fast-paced, large-scale operational environment. Experience in Supply Chain Management. Experience with analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g., t-test, Chi-squared). Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers; experience creating reports, interpreting metrics, and driving insights. Master’s degree in business economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, information technology or equivalent; PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent experience is a plus.
