At Irizar Forge, a leading industrial forging company based in Gipuzkoa (Lazkao) and part of Royal Van Beest Group, we are seeking a Procurement Manager.
The role sits within a highly international environment, supplying critical components to sectors such as oil & gas, wind energy, mining, and maritime industries.
The position reports directly to the local Operations Director, with a functional reporting line to Corporate Procurement, reflecting both local responsibility and alignment with global strategy.
Job requirements
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the procurement team and collaborate cross-functionally (2 people).
Negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
Offering operational support to the team when necessary.
Improve purchasing costs, product quality, and on-time delivery.
Defining short-, medium-, and long-term plans, projects, and objectives in line with the company and corporate strategy.
Monitor KPIs and report to local and corporate management.
Drive continuous improvement and investment initiatives.
Act as a key decision-maker and participate in business visits (travel required).
Candidate Profile
Experience – At least 10 years in procurement, ideally within industrial or metal-related environments; prior experience in a managerial role is highly valued.
Technical Background – Degree in Engineering (Industrial Organization or similar preferred).
Procurement Expertise – Strong background in strategic procurement, supplier management, and negotiation.
Languages & Tools – High level of English is mandatory; knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Additional Knowledge (Nice to Have) – MBA or equivalent management training, and familiarity with metallurgy or the iron & steel sector.
