Job Description
At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta is seeking a Passive Greenhouse Agronomist in Almería. This role will lead technical trial development and execution for passive greenhouse and open field varieties across Southwest Europe.
You’ll translate trial data into actionable crop management advice that accelerates the commercial success of new product introductions and supports grower success.
This role combines hands‑on trial management with strategic technical insights, bridging breeding innovation and commercial application in protected cultivation systems.
Trial Management & Execution
Plan and execute technical trials in passive greenhouse and open field environments.
Collect, record, and analyze trial data to develop practical crop management recommendations.
Monitor crop development, document growth stages, and ensure proper trial maintenance.
Technical Analysis & Insights
Process trial data using statistical tools to evaluate variety performance.
Develop crop‑specific management protocols and document best cultivation practices.
Support variety positioning recommendations by identifying critical success factors.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with customers, technical experts, breeders, and commercial teams to share insights.
Contribute to grower demonstrations and field days for passive greenhouse varieties.
Translate technical findings into actionable advice for diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related field.
5+ years of experience conducting field trials in protected cultivation environments.
Strong understanding of greenhouse production systems and crop management.
Knowledge of plant physiology and plant breeding concepts.
Experience with data collection and analytics tools.

Strategic thinking to align technical development with business goals and customer needs.
Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration with sales, marketing, breeding, and technical teams.
