Position Overview As the Onboarding Team Lead, you will be fully responsible for leading and scaling our onboarding function within an Employer of Record environment. This role is 100% focused on onboarding, not the full employee lifecycle. You’ll lead the onboarding team, own onboarding KPIs, and ensure a smooth, compliant, and high-quality onboarding experience for both clients and employees. Beyond day-to-day leadership, you’ll drive structure, accountability, and continuous improvement across onboarding processes. You will also act as the regional point of contact for onboarding escalations within the Americas region, and support escalations related to support or offboarding when needed. The goal of this role is simple: make onboarding efficient, predictable, and scalable while maintaining an excellent client and employee experience. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Onboarding team, providing coaching, feedback, and day-to-day guidance Own and track onboarding KPIs, ensuring performance, quality, and timelines are consistently met Design, implement, and optimize standardized EOR onboarding processes Act as the regional escalation POC (Americas) for onboarding, and support escalations for support/offboarding when needed Monitor onboarding cases, review documentation, and ensure compliance and accuracy Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Payroll, Legal, and Operations to ensure smooth handovers and execution Use data, reporting, and feedback to drive continuous improvement and scalability Identify training needs and support the professional development of the onboarding team Key Qualifications 3+ years of hands‑on onboarding experience within an EOR or global employment environment Proven people leadership experience, leading onboarding or operations teams in fast‑moving environments Deep understanding of EOR onboarding workflows, compliance requirements, and regional employment nuances Strong experience owning onboarding KPIs (SLAs, time‑to‑onboard, quality, escalations, client satisfaction) and driving measurable improvements Demonstrated ability to run onboarding operations end‑to‑end, balancing scale, accuracy, and client experience Confident decision‑maker with the ability to manage escalations calmly and effectively Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with clients, internal teams, and leadership Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritize in a high‑growth, high‑volume environment Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into clear actions and outcomes High standards for ownership, accountability, and operational excellence Desirable Experience acting as a regional escalation POC for onboarding, support, or offboarding Exposure to multi‑country onboarding and cross‑regional coordination Familiarity with HubSpot, Confluence, or similar CRM and knowledge‑management tools Experience partnering closely with Sales, Customer Success, Payroll, Legal, and Finance to ensure seamless client handoffs Background in process optimization, documentation, and scaling onboarding teams Passion for building clear, consistent, and human onboarding experiences at scale What it’s like working at Horizons Our service & product .
