To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) we are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team. About the Role As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems building and supporting the operations of AWS owned data centres, Hybrid Colo’s, Single Tenant Colo and Multi Tenant Colo builds. The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) understands, evaluates, defines and manages the expectations of construction quality in accordance to engineering designs to meet the customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Support vendors, contractors and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of high, medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems (BMS), electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) and testing & balancing. Provide multi‑discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design and planning of projects. Review component submittal packages and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT). Perform system‑level and integrated system testing. Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality and safety requirements. Prepare comprehensive weekly reports of status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned. A Day in the Life The CxE shall provide multi‑discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design and planning. During commissioning, the CxE will audit activities, review submittal packages, lead FWT, perform system‑level and integrated testing, and report weekly. About the Team The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization. Team members include veteran electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural engineers, project managers, operators and seasoned Amazonians focused on detailed engineering and operational review of equipment designs, functionality and construction practices. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities such as data centers, power generation or oil & gas facilities. Experience researching new designs, technologies and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities. Experience in commissioning. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer license. Experience with building codes and regulations for your region. Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development and deployment or mass production.
