Head of Robotics | Defence & Autonomous Systems Full-time About the Role I’m working with an innovative, mission-driven organisation operating at the forefront of defence technology and autonomous systems. They are looking for a Head of Robotics to define and lead their robotics strategy across next-generation platforms — spanning autonomy, AI, and advanced robotic systems deployed in high-stakes environments. What You’ll Do Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of robotics programmes across R&D and deployment Drive development of autonomous and semi-autonomous systems for complex, real-world environments Work closely with cross-functional teams (AI, software, hardware, product) to deliver mission-critical solutions Shape the long‑term robotics roadmap in line with evolving defence needs and emerging threats Stay ahead of advancements in robotics, autonomy, and defence tech ecosystems Build and scale a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team Act as a key voice for robotics internally and with external stakeholders (partners, government, defence organisations) What They’re Looking For Experience leading or contributing to robotics or autonomous systems programmes (defence, aerospace, or similar high‑reliability environments is a plus) Strong understanding of robotics, AI, perception, control systems, or mechatronics Ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels Comfortable working in complex, fast‑moving, and sometimes ambiguous environments Strong leadership and communication skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders Experience working with or alongside government, defence, or regulated environments is advantageous Why This Role?
