Mútua is seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial and AI-native Head of Engineering to orchestrate our technical operations and co-build the company at its next stage of growth. In this role, you will be a core technical partner, building alongside the team to ensure that our technical execution reflects our mission and product vision. As our Head of Engineering, you will combine leadership and execution. You will lead the software engineering front while deeply engaging with AI Engineering, bringing agentic solutions from prototype to scalable production. About the Role This is a senior leadership role with strong hands-on execution. You will own architecture, delivery, and production reliability across software, data, and AI systems. Your core responsibilities will include: Hands-on Architecture & Development: Design and build core backend, data, and AI components; review code and contribute to critical features. Team Leadership: Set priorities, mentor engineers, enforce high technical standards, and ensure consistent delivery. Infrastructure & DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO on cloud architecture, CI/CD, observability, security, and scalability. Agentic AI Prototyping: Partner with the Senior AI Expert to prototype, test, and productionize agentic workflows. AI Productionization: Define orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and reliability standards for AI systems in production. Engineering Operations: Structure agile workflows, remove bottlenecks, and maintain speed with rigor. Technical Governance: Establish pragmatic standards across SDLC, testing, deployment, and documentation. Cross-Functional Alignment: Translate product and business needs into clear technical priorities. Agentic Systems Experience: Proven experience bringing agentic or autonomous AI systems from prototype to scalable production. Infrastructure & DevOps Acumen: Solid experience with cloud, CI/CD, monitoring, reliability, and security best practices. Architectural Judgment: Ability to design AI-native systems balancing speed, cost, scalability, and robustness. Execution Discipline: Brings structure without slowing momentum; high ownership and delivery focus. Systems Thinking: Understands how technical architecture supports systemic impact at scale. Purpose-Oriented: Motivated to contribute to the societal sustainability transition aligned with Mútua’s mission. Strong Communication: Clear, direct, and able to align technical and non-technical stakeholders. Practical Details Role: Head of Engineering (Full-time). Location: Remote-first.
