An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Global Trade Compliance Officer
to lead and shape the international trade compliance strategy for a global organization headquartered in
Barcelona, Spain
This is a pivotal role with wide global reach, reporting directly into executive leadership and collaborating closely with global teams across Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, Commercial, and IT functions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global compliance with export control regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, EU Dual-Use, UK Export Control Order) and international sanctions (OFAC, EU, UN, UK).
Oversee screening, licensing, and due diligence processes for global trade activity and third-party risk.
Develop and roll out global trade compliance policies, training, and monitoring programs.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to harmonize trade compliance standards and procedures across multiple countries and business units.
Represent the company in interactions with global customs and regulatory authorities and advise senior leadership on trade-related risk and strategy.
Your Profile
University degree in Law, International Trade, Compliance or related discipline.
10+ years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, including leadership roles in multinational companies.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and enforcement regimes.
Experience in implementing and managing export control programs, screening tools, license management, and voluntary disclosures.
Fluency in English; additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Mandarin are a plus.
