Overview

Position
Fully or Partially Qualified European Patent Attorney for our Headquarter in Girona (Spain).
Main Responsibilities
Assessing innovative R&D developments and Digital solutions in close collaboration with technical and scientific staff and business units, providing IP advisory counsel
Preparation of patent landscape and FTO analysis for EU and global R&D pipeline
Performing state-of-the-art and patentability search reports
Maintenance of internal IP and corresponding databases
Global Prosecution of patents rights
Participating in and dealing with drafting oppositions/appeal proceedings and observations before the EPO
Providing validity opinions and infringement advice to the relevant R&D and business units
Establishing confidentiality actions to ensure the maintenance of IP
Technical support for business development
Requirements for Candidates
EQE (European Qualifying Examination) fully or partly passed. (mandatory)
Solid industrial background like bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related disciplines including electronic engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence and so on
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, preferably in pharmaceutical or/and biotechnology industries, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as in searching for and preparing reports on patentability and FTO (Freedom to Operate) opinions
Experience in medical devices or industrial products would be appreciated
Excellent command in English and Spanish. French and German will be a plus
Strong technical, writing, communication and analytical skills
Able to analyze large volumes of data to suggest commercial and actionable decisions
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills, to design, monitor and enforce IP work plans
Highly responsible and able to manage strict deadlines, be meticulous with attention to detail and be able to efficiently prioritize high R&D portfolio workloads
