Main Job PurposeThe Compliance manager oversees governance processes to ensure all Ice Cream organizations comply with environment laws, regulations, and internal standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs, including auditing, audit action tracking, and reporting. The scope covers air, water and waste environmental compliance in all factories, offices, R&D centers, distribution centers, field sales, and merchandisers. The Compliance Manager collaborates across the organization to implement environment technology, tools, and processes, continuously simplifying compliance and fostering a strong environment compliance culture. The Compliance Manager also manages a team of data analysts to simplify global environment reporting to ensure protection of people and planet. Main point of contact for ESRS reporting.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and Implement Audit and Reporting Compliance ProgramsCreate and manage programs to ensure adherence to environment laws, regulations, and internal standards.Oversee auditing, audit action tracking, and reporting processes.Develop tools to identify repeat findings and systemic gaps across the environment standards.Report to senior leaders on summary findings from the audit program.Training and CommunicationProvide training and guidance to employees, contractors, and third‑party suppliers on compliance matters.Foster a strong environment compliance culture through effective communication and education.Participate in the SHE Global Leadership Team to drive the environment compliance culture in unity across the globe.Monitoring and ReportingConduct regular internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed.Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.Accountable for general external environment reporting and data integrity in reports, including ESRS and Unilever’s annual report.Accountable for environment business reporting – BG and BU.Ensure strong controls on the reported data for accuracy and timeliness.Legal and Regulatory ComplianceStay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting the company’s operations.Accountable to the SSHE IC Head to escape appropriate risks to senior leaders and the Unilever Corporate Responsibility Committee.Continuous ImprovementDrive continuous improvement in compliance processes and practices.Support the company’s commitments to protecting people and the planet.Experience RequiredESSENTIALExperience in supply chain.Proven track record of analytical thinking and data management.University degree in science or engineering. Technology experience in engineering, modelling, data analysis, manufacturing chemistries, environmental operations, environmental impact on the planet, and how those technologies across Unilever impact risk is beneficial.Data management and reporting expertise. Knowledge of statistical analysis and modelling.Excellent knowledge of Unilever SHE standards. Working knowledge using all SHE IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processes.Excellent communication and influencing skills with international business/cultural sensitivity.Good observation and auditing skills.Programme management.Ability to influence strategic deliverables in a widely matrixed organisation.Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.Working experience with work processes in all functions in Unilever to best integrate all SHE standards and tools.PREFERRED5–7 years in extended business operations.Prior Unilever experience.Excellent conflict resolution skills.TravelExpected to participate in audits worldwide up to 50% of travel.ContactsInternalAll functions at the manufacturing and non‑manufacturing sites including remote employees.Site Env Managers, Site Leaders.Global SHE team.ExternalAudit consultants, and external auditors.Annual report assurance consultants.Government agencies and regulatory authorities.
