The decisions we make in the next 18 months will shape an industry.About the RoleWe are looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to help build and scale high-performance backend systems powering global products and platforms.This role is ideal for someone who combines strong engineering depth with technical leadership experience — someone who enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges while mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence across teams.You will work closely with international teams across Europe and Asia in a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment.What You’ll DoTechnical LeadershipLead the architecture, development, and evolution of scalable backend services and distributed systemsDrive technical decision-making, architecture standards, and engineering best practicesContribute hands-on to system design, implementation, code reviews, and production troubleshootingImprove system reliability, scalability, observability, and operational excellenceCollaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, DevOps, and cross-functional engineering teamsHelp establish a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, pragmatism, and continuous improvementTeam & Engineering CultureMentor and support engineers through technical guidance and day-to-day collaborationLead by example with strong engineering standards and execution qualityHelp scale and organize engineering teams as the company growsSupport hiring, onboarding, and technical development of team membersFoster a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing engineering environmentCross-Regional CollaborationWork closely with distributed teams across Europe and AsiaHelp align technical priorities and execution across regions and time zonesWhat We’re Looking ForCore Requirements8+ years of software engineering experience3+ years of experience as a Tech Lead or engineering team leadStrong hands-on experience in Java or Go backend engineeringSolid software engineering fundamentals and code design capabilitiesExperience with mainstream backend technologies and frameworks including:Spring BootSpring CloudMicroservices architectureSystem Design & Distributed SystemsStrong computer science fundamentals, including:Data structuresAlgorithmsOperating systems principlesProven experience designing and evolving medium-to-large scale systemsDeep understanding of distributed systems design and related challenges, including:ConsistencyFault toleranceScalabilityStrong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practicesDatabase, Messaging & InfrastructureStrong experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQLPractical experience with:SQL optimizationIndex tuningDatabase sharding and partitioningExperience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQExperience designing asynchronous and event-driven architecturesProven experience building high-concurrency and highly available systemsFamiliar with AWS ecosystem and cloud-native infrastructureExperience with container technologies including Docker and KubernetesEngineering & DeliveryFamiliar with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practicesExperience operating and scaling complex production systemsProfessional working proficiency in both English and Mandarin ChineseStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsNice to HaveFrontend experience with React, Electron, TypeScriptExperience in high-growth startups or international engineering organizationsExperience building developer platforms, infrastructure tooling, or AI-related systemsExperience working in highly distributed or remote-first teamsWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUCompetitive salary: Attractive compensation and relocation package commensurate with experience and skills.
