With an international presence across multiple locations, it offers 24/7 remote reporting services for hospitals and clinics, enabling efficient handling of both routine and urgent diagnostic imaging.Job OverviewThe Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the physical lifecycle of Teleconsult’s workstation estate and related peripherals: provisioning new devices, onsite and remote repairs, logistics and handling of hardware shipments/returns, and secure decommissioning/ refurbishment.The role owns day-to-day asset lifecycle activities and inventory accuracy, keeps the hardware storage room organized and tidy, supports office hot-desks and video conferencing (VC) hardware, and works closely with the 1st Line IT Support Engineer, senior team members and external vendors to ensure dependable availability of user devices for both clinical and office users.Key ResponsibilitiesDevice provisioning: Deploy desktops, laptops and accessories; using Autopilot and Intune; verify endpoint security posture and baseline configuration before handover.Hardware maintenance & repairs: Diagnose hardware faults remotely and perform physical repairs or component replacements onsite (screens, batteries, storage, memory); manage the RMA process for remote users' hardware.Logistics & handling: Coordinate packaging, labelling (asset tags), shipment and returns; liaise with couriers and third-party logistics; maintain clean and secure stock areas. Ensure specialized handling and secure packaging for high-value clinical equipment, such as diagnostic radiology monitors.Asset lifecycle management: Maintain and update the corporate asset register (issue/return records, warranty, EOL, location and ownership); prepare devices for refurbishment and ensure secure data wiping and documented disposition for decommissioned assets.Refurbish & secure disposal: Test and refurbish returned devices where appropriate; perform certified secure data erasure to company policy prior to redeployment or disposal.Meeting room & AV/VC equipment: Maintain and test meeting-room hardware, VC endpoints and peripherals; perform regular checks and ad-hoc fixes for critical collaboration equipment.Support desk moves & projects: Assist with desk moves, office re-allocations and mass-deployment projects; coordinate with facilities and operations teams on rack/cabling, furniture and power considerations.Documentation & asset controls: Keep accurate device records, update SOPs for handling and packaging, and contribute checklists for deployments and returns to ensure repeatable, auditable processes.Vendor & warranty management: Escalate complex hardware faults to vendors, manage RMA processes and track warranty claims.Safety & compliance: Follow company ISMS/ISO and GDPR procedures for handling hardware and protected health information (PHI) during all stages of device handling. Properly manage assets assigned to you and manage risks if you own any risk identified by the organization. Follow the policy and procedures in the Quality, Environment and Information Security Management related to your role. Actively participate in the adoption and implementation of corrective and corrective actions.Team Collaboration & Backup: Support the 1st Line IT Support Engineer during ticket surges or absences by assisting with remote and onsite first-line requests; receive reciprocal support for hardware deployments and physical tasks during peak workloads.RequirementsProven experience as a desktop / field technician, hardware engineer or similar role with responsibility for device provisioning and repairs.Proficiency in modern endpoint management (e.g., Windows Autopilot, Intune) and a solid grasp of Windows 11 administration and security baselines.Strong hardware diagnostic skills and practical experience replacing components and troubleshooting common failures.Experience with asset management processes and tools; familiarity with barcode/asset-tag workflows and maintaining an asset register.Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS), and experience troubleshooting connectivity issues affecting endpoints.Practical logistics experience: packaging, labelling, coordinating shipments/returns and interacting with couriers.Comfortable performing secure data wiping and following documented disposal/refurbish procedures.Experience with ticketing systems (JIRA / ITSM) and working to response/resolution SLAs.Advanced level of English required (both written and spoken); Swedish is a plus.Advantageous (but not mandatory): prior exposure to healthcare IT or support of clinical/diagnostic workstations (experience with DICOM viewers or working in clinical environments is a plus).Skills and CompetenciesMeticulous attention to detail and strong record-keeping discipline to maintain inventory accuracy and audit readiness.Customer-facing orientation: courteous, patient and clear communicator with non-technical users and clinicians.Practical problem-solver with a calm approach under high-demand situations (urgent device failures affecting clinical work).Organised and able to manage multiple deployments and repair jobs concurrently.Team player who can coordinate with 1st Line Support, senior IT team members and external vendors.NoteThis role is a guardian of our hardware integrity.
