My client is a prominent automotive brand in the world. Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate import/export customs operations in Spain and the EU region. Review and verify all customs declarations, HS code classifications, and related documents submitted by third-party customs service providers. Ensure compliance with the EU Customs Code (UCC) and Spanish local customs procedures. Manage and review certificates of origin and preferential tariff documents (e.g., Form A and other proofs of origin) to maximize tariff benefits. Monitor customs risk management, ensuring timely handling of customs inspections, detentions, or compliance issues. Provide professional guidance to third-party customs brokers to ensure their services meet contractual service level agreements (SLAs) and internal compliance standards. Monitor and maintain the accuracy of import/export data in company systems and customs declaration platforms. Support the optimization of customs and trade processes, including ATA Carnets, inward processing procedures, and other trade facilitation programs. Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, supply chain, legal, and finance departments to align customs compliance with overall business operations. Requirements: Hold a valid EU-recognized customs certification (e.g., EU Certified Customs Expert - CCC) or equivalent Spanish customs qualification. At least 3 years of hands-on experience in customs management in Spain or other key EU countries (e.g., Germany, France). Experience in handling import/export customs clearance for the automotive or manufacturing industry, especially for CKD/SKD components. In-depth knowledge of EU rules of origin, HS code classification, and customs valuation. Strong ability to audit and challenge third-party customs declarations, with high attention to detail and risk awareness. Excellent problem-solving and response capabilities in cases of customs inspections or clearance delays. Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise professionally with customs authorities, third-party agents, and internal teams. Fluency in Spanish (C1 or above) and English; proficiency in Catalan and Chinese is a plus. Cross-cultural adaptability to effectively bridge Chinese and European business environments. Preference will be given to Spanish nationals or candidates with valid work authorization in Spain.
