Chief Engineer – 52M Motor Yacht (Rotational Position)
Looking for an experienced and qualified Chief Engineer (Y1 / C/E(MN)III/3 or III/2 (Y2) )to join a 52M motor yacht currently based in the Western Med. The vessel is a Cayman Island commercially registered and operates in the Mediterranean and Bahamas/ Caribbean with a mixed moderate use of charter and private.The ideal candidate will have excellent references and proven longevity and experience on similar size vessels. Refit experience is a must.Key ResponsibilitiesOverall responsibility for all technical, mechanical and electrical systems onboard.Routine maintenance and operation of main engines, generators and auxiliary equipment.Management of fuel, water and waste systemsEnsure ongoing compliance with safety and environmental regulations as well as Flag and Class regulations.Familiar with IDEA Management Software and PinPoint.Budgeting and inventory control for the engineering department.Active participation in safety drills, emergency procedures and damage control.Lead, mentor and work alongside a 2nd Engineer as well as overseeing and managing daily engine room operations and maintenance.Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.Technical RequirementsVessel is powered by MTU 16V 2000 main engines, Northern Lights M1066H generators & Naiad stabilizers.Knowledge & experience with these systems would be essential.Position DetailsRotation: 8 - 10 weeks on/offAccommodation: Private cabin, sharing heads with the Chief Officers.Salary: DOEStart Date: December 2026The yacht has a well-established crew with a low turn-over rate, so we’re looking for candidates with a positive attitude and team-player mentality to complement an excellent crew culture. Good Crew Mess etiquette is a must.
