As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our internal finance function and are looking for an experienced Business Controller to join our team in Marbella.
Position Overview
We are looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded Business Controller who will take ownership of the company's internal financial reporting and business performance analysis.
You will work directly with senior management, supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, KPI monitoring, and commercial analysis.
This is an onsite position based in Marbella and requires someone who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and becoming a key member of a growing international fintech business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Produce Profit & Loss statements and management reporting.
Monitor financial performance and provide regular reporting to senior management.
Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and reliable.
Business Controlling
Analyse revenue, costs, profitability, margins, and overall business performance.
Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and management reports.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance.
Provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Support management with data-driven financial insights to facilitate strategic decision-making.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Monitor budget versus actual performance and explain variances.
Prepare financial models, scenario analysis, and business forecasts.
Assist management with strategic planning and long-term financial decision-making.
Business Partnering
Work closely with senior management and department heads to support business decisions through financial analysis.
Provide financial guidance to different business areas when evaluating new initiatives or projects.
Help develop scalable financial reporting processes as the company continues to grow.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Business Controller, Financial Controller, FP&A Analyst, Finance Manager, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial information into business insights.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within fintech, payments, banking, financial services, or technology companies.
Experience preparing management reporting and Profit & Loss statements.
Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and business performance reporting.
Experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar reporting tools is considered an advantage.
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) is considered a plus.
