About the Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the world. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues – such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation – to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the entire project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview Of The Role
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance Department based in Madrid.
Responsibilities

Perform monthly and year‑end closing activities in accordance with corporate and local requirements.
Reconcile accounts monthly to guarantee accuracy and consistency across multiple accounting systems.
Maintain local statutory accounts and ensure compliance with Spanish regulations and corporate policies.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of annual statutory accounts.
Prepare and deliver financial information to external accountants for tax filings and statutory reporting.
Facilitate internal and external audits by providing all required documentation.
Process employee expense claims and bank payments.
Monitor and review employee timesheets.
Provide ad‑hoc support across the finance function and assist with other general administrative tasks.

Candidate Specification
Essential

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Accounting experience, ideally including prior experience in external audit or a multinational company.
Strong knowledge of the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (Plan General Contable).
Experience in reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and IFRS standards.
Strong analytical skills, detail‑oriented and fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Desirable

Pursuing an internationally recognised accounting qualification.
