A Degree in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Science and Technology or equivalent by the contract start date. Being enrolled or admitted to the PhD programme in Chemical Science and Technology at the UIB.
Specific Requirements
A copy of candidates’ enrolment or admission document to the official PhD in Chemical Science and Technology programme.
An ability to collaborate in teaching duties in Catalan and/or Spanish.

Eligibility criteria
Block 1. Academic record (max. 20 points)
Undergraduate degree record (max. 15 points). The mark out of 10 and to two decimal places.
Master’s degree record (max. 5 points). The mark out of 10 and to two decimal places.
Block 2. Other merits (max. 10 points)
University lecturing (max. 1 point)
1 point for every 60 hours of teaching (or pro‑ratio where the number of hours is lower).
Research activity (max. 3 points)
Publications:
Q1 journal article: 2.5 points per article
Q2 journal article: 1.5 points per article
Q3 journal article: 0.5 point per article
Q4 journal article: 0.25 points per article
The committee may award 0.5 additional points for particularly relevant articles published in D1 journals in their specific field.
Articles in non-indexed journals: 0.1 points per article
Conferences:
Oral presentation: 0.5 points per paper
Poster: 0.25 points per poster
Stays at other university research centres (max. 0.5 points): 0.5 points per three-month stay or above; 0.15 points per month for stays lasting under three months
Training courses (max. 1 point): a total of 0.2 points will be awarded for every 10 hours (or pro‑ratio where the number of hours is lower)
Awards and languages (max. 1.5 points):
Awards: up to 1 point
Languages (max. 0.5 points): 0.5 points per certificate equivalent to B2 or above
Professional activity (max. 0.5 points):
Relevant professional experience, including non‑university teaching. A total of 0.2 points per year (or pro‑ratio where the number of hours worked is lower).
Other merits (max. 2.5 points):
Participation in scientific outreach activities: up to 0.5 points per activity
Published articles on teaching quality innovation and improvement: 0.1 points per article
Other qualifications:
Official undergraduate degrees: the mark out of 10 and to two decimal places (max. 2 points per qualification)
Official master’s degrees: the mark out of 10 and to two decimal places (max. 0.5 points per qualification)
Grants and bursaries: up to 2 points.
Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non‑EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non‑EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. Selection process
Selection comitee
The relevant Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor for Research (or person s/he delegates), as chair.
The management team for the relevant department.
The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI).
Three experts in the field pertaining to recruitment, where appropriate, appointed by the chair of the committee, having heard from the management team of the department.
The head of the Management Office for the Research Promotion and Human Resources Programme (or person s/he delegates), acting as secretary, who may speak but not vote.
Additional comments
In accordance with Article 19. c) of Act 17/2022 of 5th September that amends Act 14/2011 of 1st June on Science, Technology and Innovation, the work of pre‑doctoral research staff in training shall be assessed by the Academic Committee for the PhD Programme on an annual basis or, where applicable, the Doctoral School, for the duration they are enrolled on the programme. The contract may be terminated where they fail this assessment.
