Overview
In this Strategic Project Buyer role, you enable successful execution of complex engineering projects through end-to-end procurement and supplier management. You will bridge technical requirements with strategic sourcing, collaborating with Engineering, Project Management, and Commodity Management to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions. You’ll lead project-specific RFQs, onboarding, negotiations, and performance management across pre- and post-order phases. This role supports a global, cross-functional team within Eaton’s project procurement function, contributing to sustainable, energy-efficient outcomes.

ResponsabilidadesDevelop and execute project procurement strategies for materials, equipment, integration solutions, field services, and other services aligned with engineering requirements and timelinesOversee end-to-end RFQ process for complex technical scopes, from supplier search to commercial evaluationCollaborate with Commodity Managers to align category strategies, supplier management, cost optimization, and risk mitigationIdentify and onboard suppliers for project needs, evaluating technical, commercial, quality, and compliance fitLead and support commercial negotiations to secure favorable terms and risk mitigationEnsure technical compliance and supplier readiness with Engineering and Project Management stakeholdersMonitor supplier performance during project execution and address delivery, quality, and contractual issuesCoordinate with Operational Buyers for efficient purchase order execution across the project lifecycleDrive continuous improvement using tools and best practices to reduce costs and standardize procurementEnsure SCM policy compliance and maintain accurate procurement records and supplier documentation
Requisitos principalesBachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent5+ years of procurement experience in complex engineering projects (hyperscale or industrial)Understanding of electrical/mechanical systems and integration requirementsExperience in program management and coordinating standard tools and processesEnglish and Spanish language proficiency; French is an advantageStrong negotiation and stakeholder management skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organizationTrack record in leading or participating in complex change management initiatives across functions/regionsnegotiationstakeholder managementcross-functional collaborationunderstanding of electrical/mechanical integrationprogram management tools and processesRFQ management and supplier onboarding
