Senior Project Manager
Location : Madrid (2-3 days p / month onsite)
Type : Contract €475-€550 p / day depending on experience
Length : Start Febuary 2026 until December 2026 (with possible extension into 2027)
We’re looking for 2 experienced Project Managers to lead and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project teams, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
Programme context :
The new Enterprise Data Office is dedicated to transforming data assets into trusted, secure, and business‑aligned information that drives informed decision‑making and organisational growth. Three projects have been identified for 2026 execution : Data Retention (new project, spin‑off of a previous one to be closed in January’26); BO migration and Data Governance tool implementation.
Skills and Competencies :
Has strong experience in managing Business and IT projects
Project management skills. Knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices.
Proficient at creating and monitoring plans, managing time, budget and resources independently.
Excellent communication and reporting skills to senior stakeholders as well as project team
Ability to work on multiple work streams simultaneously.
Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills.
Proven leadership and critical thinking skills.
Adept at negotiating internally and externally.
Experience with cloud technologies and tools such as Confluence and Azure DevOps.
Advanced English level required.
Background preferred :
Data background preferred, not limited but including some of the following topics :
Experience in Data Transformation : Knowledge of data flows, data quality, and data lineage. Understanding of data architectures, databases, pipelines, and storage systems. Experience managing projects that involve migrations, refactoring, or reorganisation of data platforms.
Knowledge of the Regulatory Framework (DORA and others) : Understanding of the requirements of the Digital Operational Resilience Act in technological resilience and security. Familiarity with risk frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR. Experience reporting progress and risks to compliance teams, risk teams, and executive committees.
Experience working with Enterprise Data and Reporting landscapes : including legacy and modern BI tools (e.g. Business Objects), data models, semantic layers, and impacts of migration on reporting, analytics, and downstream customers.
Key responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead the completion of complex IT and business transformation projects; ensure alignment with business objectives and timelines.
Project Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans; integrate all aspects of the project, including timelines and resource allocation.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting : Monitor project progress, milestones, and deliverables; provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders following PMO governance and practices.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies; develop proactive mitigation strategies to address risks effectively.
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources efficiently, including budget, personnel, and technology; consult with line/resource managers and third parties.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders; ensure transparency, communication, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Management: Manage diverse project teams, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance work environment; motivate the project team and ensure team harmony.
Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance processes and standards; ensure the delivery of high‑quality products and services.
Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, requirements, and timelines; coordinate adjustments in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation; encourage feedback, learning, and adaptation to drive operational excellence.
