ppAs a flagship research center in nanoscience and nanotechnology, our mission is to open and explore new frontiers of knowledge at the nanoscale, and bring value to society in the form of new understanding, capabilities and innovation, while inspiring and providing broad training to the next generations of researchers. Our values are Commitment, Collaboration and Transformation. /p pOur research lines focus on the newly-discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the behaviour of matter at the nanoscale. ICN2 has been awarded with the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence distinction for three consecutive periods and and ). ICN2 comprises 20 Research Groups, 7 Technical Development and Support Units and Facilities, and 2 Research Platforms, covering different areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology. /p h3Senior Postdoctoral Researcher – Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors /h3 h3Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors /h3 h3Description of Group/Project /h3 pThe Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors group at ICN2 is focused on the development of cutting-edge sensors for various point-of-need applications. The group of Prof. Arben Merkoçi are internationally recognised world leaders in the development of point-of-care nanobiosensors. /p h3Main Tasks and Responsibilities /h3 pWe are looking to employ a senior postdoctoral researcher funded on an European Defence Fund (EDF) project that will involve the development of next generation Lateral Flow Assays (LFA) for the detection of biological threats. The senior researcher role will require the candidate to supervise 2 PhD students in the development of lateral flow assays for biosafety applications. This role will also involve the presentation of the results to international consortium members, close collaboration with European partners on the project, project management and other general academic group activities. /p h3Requirements /h3 ul liEducation: PhD in Chemistry with a masters in Nanotechnology preferred. /li liKnowledge: Previous experience of having worked in biosensor development, particularly lateral flow assays and immunosensors. /li liProfessional Experience: Profiles with experience in both academy and companies are well-valued. /li liPersonal Competences: ul liProven reputation based on research excellence in their field. /li liPositive contribution to the development of knowledge, research and development through partnerships and cooperation. /li liCapable of identifying problems and opportunities within their area of research. /li liCapable of identifying suitable research methodologies and approaches. /li liCapable of independent research. /li liCapable of leading the execution of research projects in cooperation with research project partners and colleagues. /li liPublication as main author, organisation of workshops, conferences and congresses. /li /ul /li /ul h3Summary of Conditions /h3 ul liFull time work (37,5h/week) /li liContract Length: Temporary, until 31/03/2029 /li liSalary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience. /li liSupport to the relocation issues. /li liLife Insurance. /li /ul h3How to apply /h3 ul liReference letters or referee contacts /li /ul h3Deadline for applications /h3 p03/07/2026 /p h3Contract funded by the European Union (GA‑ ) /h3 h3Equal opportunities /h3 pAt ICN2, we foster an inclusive and safe work environment, free from any form of discrimination-whether based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, origin, culture, religion, disability, or any other personal or social condition.
