Overview
In this role you will design, operate, and safeguard a high-availability, low-latency data platform built on PostgreSQL and MySQL. You will drive automation and IaC to provision and manage databases across on-prem and cloud environments, ensuring scalable performance and robust disaster recovery. You’ll lead optimization, monitoring, and capacity planning while mentoring teammates and maintaining clear runbooks. This position offers impact through reliable data services and a focus on engineering excellence within a cross-functional tech team.

ResponsabilidadesBuild and maintain high-availability PostgreSQL and MySQL systems (on-prem and RDS)Design and maintain provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines with Ansible and/or TerraformConfigure and troubleshoot multi-region/multi-node replication (streaming and logical replication)Tune performance: queries, indexes, engine parameters, and schema designExecute backup, PITR, encryption, and DR exercises; ensure data security and integrityMonitor health and capacity, apply patches and upgrades as neededDocument policies, standards, schemas, and runbooks with rigorShare knowledge, mentor junior/mid-level engineers, and promote engineering excellenceProvide Tier 3 production support with on-call involvement as required
