Secondary Teacher (Science and/or Maths)Join us as we expand our secondary school at Raoul Wallenberg International School (RWIS) in Palma, Mallorca. We are seeking a dynamic, flexible teacher with a passion for inquiry-based learning to join our team for the 2024-2025 academic year.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based lessons in Science, Maths, and/or other subject areas while integrating the RWIS way of teaching.Incorporate project‑based learning, service and experiential learning, education for sustainable development and real‑world applications to inspire curiosity and critical thinking.Collaborate with colleagues across subjects to develop cross‑curricular material and ensure curriculum consistency.Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.Maintain accurate student performance records and manage data to identify growth areas.Support character development through values‑based education and integration of the Class Connect Programme.Prioritise student emotional and social well‑being, working with the Student Life Coordinator and School Counsellor.Build partnerships with students, families and the wider school community to advance educational outcomes.Participate in the school’s professional development programme and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Lead after‑school clubs, activities or workshops that reflect personal expertise and enrich the school community.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Secondary Education with specialism in Mathematics, Science or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in secondary education, ideally in an inquiry‑based international or British school.Experience with IB Middle Years Programme, Cambridge International Curriculum or the IB Diploma Programme.Strong record of teaching in lower secondary, with demonstrable expertise in learning, teaching and assessment.Proficiency in English; knowledge of Spanish, Swedish, German or another language is an asset.Additional ExpectationsCommitment to values‑based education that supports holistic student development.Adoption of modern teaching technologies (AI tools, adaptive learning platforms, Google Workspace for Education).Progressive, research‑based, high‑quality teaching approach.Flexibility to teach across multiple subject areas when required.Positive representation of the school’s guiding principles as a role model.Proactive, solution‑oriented attitude in addressing a dynamic, international school environment.Benefits of Living in MallorcaEnjoy exceptional quality of life, stunning natural beauty, vibrant cultural scene, Mediterranean climate with over 300 days of sunshine, an expat‑friendly community, excellent healthcare, education and infrastructure – making Mallorca ideal for families and professionals.Benefits & SupportCompetitive salary commensurate with experience, professional development opportunities, group health insurance, free lunch, tuition for children, and relocation allowance for international hires (if applicable).
