Scientist – Early Technology Development (Magic Wand)As a scientist for early technology development you will be responsible for bridging theory and practice across a number of projects. Your role will be to materialise hypothesis and prototype technologies that can disrupt the way we think about organic coatings. You will work on the front end of our innovation chain and with partners that can help increase understanding as well as impact.Key Focus Areas- Structure–property relationships- Synthesis of novel materials- Technology scouting- Prototyping and screeningSuccess CriteriaYou don’t need to be from Hogwarts, but you must conjure up new materials at small scale first. If you are not a wizard, you probably have a background as an engineer, chemist or equivalent.Industrial experience is not a prerequisite, but you must share our ambitions and commitment.We expect you to be self‑driven and a doer. You thrive both in the lab and at the desk.Preferred Experience- Lab‑scale synthesis- Silicone chemistry- Analytical chemistry- Test design and scientific reportingMarine Technology TeamAs a scientist for early technology development you will join our ambitious Marine Technology team in R&D. We are a growing team of scientists that fight relentlessly every day against waste in the shipping industry. We need someone to cover the gap between idea and practice.
