CIDETEC Surface Engineering is seeking an expert in processes for printed electronics / in-mould electronics to join its Nanosurfaces Unit. This unit develops functional coatings, materials, and processes for printed electronics, addressing industrial challenges and European programmes, with a focus on sustainability. The researcher will engage in activities related to training and industrial R&D projects, collaborating with prominent companies in sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, and energy. Your contribution You will join a cutting-edge research centre focused on sustainability and the circular economy, revolutionizing surface treatments for everyday objects and demanding materials in sectors like aeronautics and energy. You will work on training and company transfer projects, managing multiple research lines simultaneously to optimize resources and results. Your work will focus on the following activities: Management and planning of R&D projects. Direct interaction with clients. Promotion of the printed electronics research line. Analysis of results, report drafting, and presentation preparation. Preparation of proposals for R&D funding at regional, national, and European levels. Education: Industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or similar background. A PhD is highly valued. Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge and experience: The candidate should demonstrate sound knowledge and experience in areas such as: Screen printing (preferably semi-automatic). Hybridisation of SMD components (Pick & Place). Vacuum and/or high-pressure thermoforming. Simulation of deformation/thermoforming processes. Overinjection (FIM and/or IME). Additional knowledge considered a plus includes: 2D vectorial and 3D CAD design. Design and validation of printed systems like circuits, sensors, antennas, heaters. Substrate pre-activation techniques (plasma, chemical treatments). Characterization of printed layers (thickness, adherence, electrical properties). Observations: A highly motivated individual with a keen interest in research and innovation, capable of organizing work, meeting deadlines, and solving problems with scientific rigor.
