It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and RD into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries. /p h3Context And Mission /h3 pThe BSC participates in the Stratum project, which explores multimodal data processing using Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to support complex surgeries across many anatomies, with brain tumor surgery being one of the most complex cases. Our mission is to analyze and characterize the performance of large-scale data analysis pipelines to inform the development of novel algorithms and hardware accelerators. /p pOur research group seeks a highly motivated engineer interested in applied AI, bioinformatics algorithms, and data structures. Come join our group to address the challenge of providing accurate and efficient co-designed software-hardware solutions that can scale with increasingly large and complex sequencing datasets for large-scale bioinformatics analysis.
