Company OverviewDE DIETRICH IBÉRICA is a specialized engineering firm dedicated to the design and construction of turnkey process plants and equipment for the chemical, pharmaceutical, natural ingredients extraction, cosmetics, and related industries. We deliver customized solutions including reaction, evaporation, concentration, distillation, filtration, drying, and other unit operations, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards (GMP, FDA, etc.).Project Engineer (Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona)Hybrid possible (4 IN -1 OUT), with travel requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete/review P&IDs.Develop/review layout of plants or units.Prepare area classification studies as needed.Participate in risk assessments or HAZOP studies.Develop functional requirements for control and automation (loops, safety interlocks, required/desired control screens).Generate lists and specifications of equipment, lines, valves.Generate the necessary legal documents using internal information or data from suppliers/subcontractors: PED, HVAC, etc.Collaborate in the final documentation dossier corresponding to the EIC section.Preparation of specifications for sending RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors; review and tabulation of bids; management of the procurement and subcontracting process.Inspection visits to boiler makers or jobs on site.FAT of equipment at the supplier’s facility.Supervision of installation works on-site.Full support during the start-up, commissioning, and validation phases of the installations.Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical fields.Minimum 2 years of proven experience in execution of complex process equipment, machinery, or turnkey plants (ideally in chemical, pharmaceutical, fine chemicals, water treatment or similar process industries).Familiarity with handling complex technical requisitions and specifications.Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English (both spoken and written – C1/C2 level).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel for budgeting, Word/PowerPoint for proposals and presentations).Essential Skills & Personal AttributesExcellent social and negotiation skills: comfortable in complex, multi‑stakeholder discussions and problem‑solving under pressure.Proactive, positive, dynamic, and results‑oriented mindset.Willingness and availability to travel approximately 25% of the time (national and international client visits, events, etc.).Highly Valued (Strong Advantage)Additional languages: French and/or German.Experience with GMP design requirements and facility validation processes in accordance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11.Technical knowledge or hands‑on experience in evaporation, concentration, crystallization, or drying processes.Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar tools) for P&IDs or mechanical design.Boiler shop and/or piping quality assurance.Previous experience in machinery manufacturing or integration companies.Experience in international projects.What We OfferCompetitive annual gross salary.Performance‑based variable bonus.Full‑time permanent contract.Opportunity to work on high‑value, technically challenging international projects.Professional development in a specialized niche industry.Collaborative environment in the technical department.
