Key Responsibilities
Support the Payroll Operations Manager in providing a high quality payroll service.
Assist with managing the day to day payroll process with only a limited manager supervision to ensure timely and accurate payments
Proactively keep up to date with payroll legislation and compliance by interpreting new legislation effectively and explaining to junior team members where applicable
Effectively communicate with authorities, our third party payroll providers to ensure that payments, reports and returns are being delivered to authorities and other respective stakeholders accurately and on time
Responsible for payroll being administered and authorized in line with payroll process control policies to ensure compliance
Develops and maintains relationships with Finance, wider HR team and other key stakeholders to ensure a smooth delivery of service between departments, working to achieve best practice at all times
Initial point of contact (and escalation from junior team members) for employees in relation to payroll and benefits queries by demonstrating the confidence and knowledge to bring any queries to a satisfactory and timely resolution
Proactively make recommendations for improvement by continually assessing the effectiveness of our payroll framework within a constantly evolving environment + setting up new processes
Supporting the management of invoices to ensure appropriate sign off, tracking and payments are made on time and accurately
Administration of a range of employee benefits ensuring accurate payroll deductions are gathered together with regular and prompt reporting to 3rd parties providers (e.g. pensions, medical, various insurances, etc.)
Calculation of statutory payroll payments, statutory documents and other manual calculations as required
Assist with the training of new and existing employees with some supervision
Skills and Experience
You bring at least 5 years of experience in a payroll-focused environment.
You have a strong interest in and deep knowledge of Spanish payroll, and you’re eager to expand your expertise to support payroll processes across multiple countries.
You are motivated by working in an international setting, contributing to payroll operations beyond Spain.
You enjoy collaborating within a global, often remote team, and value shared success.
You work with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality.
You are naturally curious, proactive, and enthusiastic about continuous learning.
You respond positively to change and adapt quickly.
You communicate clearly, address issues with maturity, and foster constructive dialogue.
You can organize and prioritize your workload independently.
You have solid skills in Excel; knowledge of Word & PowerPoint is an advantage.
Experience with Workday is considered a plus.
You have strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, and can participate confidently in English-speaking meetings.
