Join Lundbeck Iberia in this newly created senior role, where you will connect data, people and processes to increase the impact of our Medical & Regulatory Affairs organization across Spain and Portugal.Your new roleAs Medical Business Excellence & Operations Lead, you will be the operational backbone of the Medical & Regulatory Affairs Iberia function. This is a senior individual-contributor role with significant cross-functional influence and responsibility for preparing decisions and driving disciplined execution, without direct people-management responsibility.Partnering closely with the Medical & Regulatory Affairs Director, Iberia, whose remit includes Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Pharmacovigilance, you will coordinate strategic priorities and prepare decisions for the Director and relevant leadership forums by bringing together data, options, recommendations, risks and clear escalation routes.You will manage the Medical operating cadence, departmental roadmaps, dashboards, KPIs and governance routines. You will also support the operational follow-up of Medical studies and projects, including recruitment, ethics and CEIM milestones, contracts, site initiation, vendors, blockers and key decision points.You will strengthen Medical and Field Medical Excellence through CRM discipline, insight quality, onboarding, training and capability-building routines. In addition, you will coordinate the local Medical Information operating process, including Q&A tracking, insight loops and quality feedback, in collaboration with Medical Advisors, Pharmacovigilance and Quality.Your future teamYou will join the Medical & Regulatory Affairs organization in Iberia and collaborate with colleagues across Spain and Portugal. The team advances Medical Affairs excellence, evidence generation, scientific engagement and compliant execution, while maintaining a strong focus on people living with brain disorders.You will work across Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Quality, Business Operations, Business Intelligence, Customer Engagement, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, IT and People & Culture. Collaboration, transparency and shared accountability are central to how the team works, and your role will help create the structure and clarity that enable colleagues to focus on scientific excellence and patient impact.The position is based in Barcelona, Spain.What you bring to the teamYou combine Medical Affairs knowledge with strong operational and project leadership skills. You are comfortable coordinating complex initiatives, turning information into clear recommendations and influencing stakeholders across functions and countries.You combine a solid understanding of Medical Affairs with strong operational, analytical and cross-functional leadership capabilities. You can coordinate complex initiatives, synthesize data and information into clear recommendations, and influence stakeholders across functions and countries.To succeed in this role, you bring:- A university degree in a relevant scientific discipline and substantial experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences industry.- Proven experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Operations, Medical Excellence, Field Medical Excellence or Project/Programme Management within a regulated environment.- Strong understanding of Medical strategy and Medical Plan execution, including evidence generation, external expert engagement, governance, KPI management, budget oversight and vendor management.- Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a strong advantage.Experience in Iberia or another multi-country affiliate environment would be highly valuable. Additional exposure to one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: Launch Readiness; Medical Education and internal capability building; Scientific Communications, including Publications and Congress Excellence; Expanded Access Programmes or Patient Support Programmes; Medical Information; and Patient Advocacy. An advanced degree or relevant qualification in Medical Excellence, Operations Excellence or Project/Programme Management would also be beneficial.You are structured, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities.
