**Position**MIO’s Human Resources team is seeking an experienced HR professional to administer key HR and benefits programs and processes across our Non-US locations in Germany, Spain, the UK, and Asia. This individual will be responsible for onboarding and offboarding team members, coordinating the provision of benefits and, in some cases, the administration of payroll, employee relations, and ensuring adherence to our HR policies as well as compliance with legal requirements. The EU HR Generalist will report directly to our Chief People Officer, who sits in New York City.This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Madrid, Spain. The new hire will be expected to work on-site 2 days/week.**Primary responsibilities**- Manage onboarding and offboarding procedures (new hire orientation, benefits administration, contract management, etc.) and ensure a smooth experience for new joiners- Contribute to evaluation and compensation processes (payroll administration and time tracking)- Play a front-line role in proactively responding to HR-related inquiries and work independently to escalate issues to appropriate personnel as needed- Maintain regular communication between McKinsey HR in Spain/Germany/UK/Singapore, MIO HR in New York, and MIO colleagues in the EU, the UK, and Asia to understand updates to all HR matters across regional offices, e.G., benefits, payroll, and office closures- Provide backup support to the HR team in New York City- Liaise with the firm’s external accounting vendor to manage invoicing for GmbH and Spain entities- Review payroll reports and perform relevant tasks related to expense and reimbursements- Provide some office support on an as needed basis (e.G., contract management, invoicing, and coordinating with MIO’s US Finance team)**Desired background**- Undergraduate degree from an accredited university; master’s degree in human resources management a plus- 4+ years of general HR experience, preferably in financial services- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- Fluency in English and Spanish is required; German language skills are a plus- Knowledge of labor laws in Spain, Germany, UK; exposure to HR systems (e.G., SAP)- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals at various experience levels; highly responsive to requests and a client service-orientation- Outstanding organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail- Strong problem-solving skills and high process-orientation- Sound judgment regarding when and how to escalate sensitive issues- Sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and gravitas in dealing with highly confidential matters and materials- Collaborative and professional, even when under pressureMIO is an equal opportunity employer.
