Descripción de la oferta
We are looking for a highly skilled Hardware Project Leader to spearhead the lifecycle development of our next-generation, ruggedized OpenVPX computing platforms. This is a high-impact role requiring a unique blend of technical execution and project management—bridging the gap to lead a team of engineers in integrating backplanes, Ethernet switches, Intel Core Ultra, and NVIDIA GPUs into mission-critical systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our VPX modules meet the rigorous demands of Aerospace and Defense applications on time, within budget, and strictly aligned with VITA standards. This is a permanent, strategic position. Following the successful delivery of initial modules, you will take ownership of process evolution and verification roadmaps, ensuring our hardware ecosystem remains at the cutting edge and scales to reduce time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Coordination: Lead the hardware development team through the entire product lifecycle, from initial architecture to final verification of 3U OpenVPX modules.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with mechanical, thermal, and software teams to ensure design reliability in conduction-cooled environments and harsh conditions.
Design Reviews (CDR/PDR): Own and lead critical technical milestones, defending design decisions and ensuring design compliance is embedded early in the process.
Verification & Validation Planning: Oversee Environmental Stress Testing (ESS) and MIL-STD compliance plans, ensuring all thermal cycling, shock, and vibration requirements are met and documented.
Process Evolution: Proactively improve design-to-market workflows, identifying bottlenecks and implementing continuous improvement strategies to reduce time-to-market.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
VPX Ecosystem: Deep, expert-level understanding of the OpenVPX ecosystem, VITA standards, and the physical constraints of conduction-cooled, high-power electronics.
System Architecture: Proven ability to understand complex system-of-systems integrations (Backplane, Ethernet Switches, Computing Modules).
Documentation & Compliance: Strong capability to document hardware architecture, validation plans, and ensure strict adherence to military and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, DO-160).
Professional Experience
8+ years in ruggedized embedded systems development.
At least 3 years in a project leadership, technical management, or Lead Engineer role.
Proven track record of successfully guiding complex hardware through Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) and into production.
Strong project management background with the ability to build and manage multi-quarter hardware development and ESS testing timelines.
Soft Skills
The "Translator" Ability: English Fluency (B2/C1). Proven ability to translate complex technical tradeoffs to stakeholders and successfully defend technical decisions in international design reviews.
Strategic Vision: A passion for proactively improving design-to-market workflows and removing technical bottlenecks.
Typical Experience
8 to 10+ years.
Typical Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
