Galileo is looking for a Grid Connection Engineer to secure and optimise the grid connections needed to deliver our growingpipeline of solar PV, BESS and wind projects in Spain. This person will be based in Madrid, reporting to the Head of Grid, who is part of our European EPC function. What you’ll do: Supportand provide advice to our Spanish business development team on grid connection requestsand exchanges with the DSO and TSO all the way through from site origination,pipeline entry, sale, construction to commercial operations; Conductgrid connection feasibility assessments for renewable energy projects, designand oversee the construction of interconnection infrastructure for solar, wind,storage in Spain; Take a portfolio perspective, track andprioritise grid-related activities across the portfolio, develop knowledge andresources to deliver lowest Grid Capex, LCOE and accelerated connections,including regional “hubs” where possible for Galileo’s projects; Form strong working relationships with allProject functions and development Partners to ensure that grid connectionconsiderations and technical aspects are understood and optimised; Enable hybrid/storage project connectionsand keep on top of technological and regulatory developments in this area; Identify and manage external technicalexperts, participating on due diligence, capex/opex estimations, engineeringstudies and engagement with the grid connection providers; Be an active and collaborative member ofGalileo’s European Grid function, supporting on projects in other markets whereneeded, developing shared best practice and knowledge on the topic of gridtechnologies, costs, risks and optimisation opportunities; Maintain and extend your professionalqualifications and skillset as needed to adapt to our expanding business andneeds on the latest grid connection regulations and industry trends. Requirements Whatyou’ll need: Fluency in Spanish and in English is amust-have, additional European languages as Italian are valuable; Master's degree or bachelor’s degree inelectrical engineering and power systems; Up to 3 years’ relevantexperience in power systems, grid connections in Spain, ideally within Spanish DSO/TSOand/or a Renewable Energy project developer; Knowledge of the IEC, European and Spanish electricalcodes and requirements for connecting power plants to the electrical grid aswell as connection studies; Clear, logical and helpful communication style,with an ability to dig into the detail as well as step-back and communicate thebigger picture pragmatically and succinctly; Commercial and strategic mind, ability to look beyond the technical right answer to take into account widerconsiderations; Proven ability to work across topics andprojects in an organised, strategic and value-adding way.
