ING is looking for a Domain Architect to join our Architecture team. Key Responsibilities Identify and define the scope of Bounded Contexts within the domain, according to the business needs of the different Value Streams, always with a target-first mindset. Co‑create architectural designs at different temporal horizons, defining the target architecture, foreseen transitions and the next iteration, while considering both business and technology strategy and combining integral and local systems. Contribute positively to roadmap definition, providing guidance to business and delivery leadership and assessing the impact of major initiatives at the inception phase. Own the integration of services and platforms across the domain, optimizing functional and non‑functional requirements and reducing complexity and architectural debt. Provide guidance to engineers, managers and squads for the domain by describing design patterns and best practices in cookbooks alongside the Engineering discipline. Own Quarterly Business Review (QBR) items (three quarters) and sign off on quarterly plans and change governance documents (CGD). Ensure the architecture is implemented according to the design, measuring and tracking technical and tactical debt. Qualifications & Experience Strong written and verbal communication skills. Initiative‑driven with a pro‑active attitude, working within the directions and constraints of management and bank policy. Ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, including line management, senior management, external suppliers and related parties. Problem‑solving ability and strong analytical skills. Fluent in English (written and oral). Attention to detail and accuracy. Team‑player mindset and execution‑driven attitude. Demonstrated experience in a hands‑on development leadership role. Proven experience in Agile environments, working both individually and as part of a team. Involvement in successful change initiatives associated with IT in business. 3–5 years of experience in architecture. Experience with microservices architecture, API design, event‑driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and reactive principles. Knowledge of domain‑driven design principles and methodology is preferred. Good understanding of security principles and patterns at the application, transport and infrastructure levels. In‑depth understanding of banking environment, products and processes.
