Job DescriptionThe team is responsible for the development & operations of Monitoring and DataAnalytics Tools for the Network Control Platform of Deutsche Telekom Germany (AAA Fixed Net Germany). We are looking for two DevOps Engineers with a strong focus on monitoring and observability. The candidate will take end‑to‑end responsibility for our monitoring platforms and help evolve them across both traditional infrastructure and cloud‑native environments.
QualificationsOperate, maintain, and continuously improve monitoring and observability platforms.
Administer and optimize tools such as Checkmk, Grafana, and Kibana.
Design monitoring concepts for VMware environments and Kubernetes‑based cloud platforms.
Implement and improve observability based on metrics, logs, traces, and alerts.
Work with OpenTelemetry concepts, including collectors, exporters, metrics, logs, and traces.
Build and maintain dashboards, alerting rules, and operational KPIs.
Automate monitoring‑related tasks, configurations, and deployments using DevOps practices.
Integrate monitoring and observability components into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate closely with platform, infrastructure, development, and operations teams.
Create and maintain technical documentation, preferably in English.
Rollout management throughout the entire application lifecycle based on ITIL/corporate processes (Incident/problem/change)
Collaborate closely with internal customers
Requirement:
Must‑have Requirements:
Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools, especially Checkmk, Grafana, and Kibana.
Good understanding of OpenTelemetry and modern observability concepts.
Experience with VMware and Kubernetes‑based cloud environments.
Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker or similar runtimes.
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, Artifactory, and Git.
Scripting or programming skills, preferably in Python and Bash.
Experience with APIs, YAML, JSON, and automation of operational tasks.
Some knowledge understanding of networking basics, such as DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a structured, solution‑oriented mindset.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements:
Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation.
