Civil Engineer Join to apply for the Civil Engineer role at Mott MacDonald Bentley | MMB . Overview At MMB we are part of the @one Alliance, a collaborative organisation of partner companies and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water's capital investment programme. We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, which will see us deliver a programme of work larger than ever before. This will focus on nature‑based solutions such as wetlands and sustainable urban drainage schemes, driving change, setting global benchmarks and building a better environment. We are looking to build on our existing teams within an environment that supports career progression. What will you be doing as our new Civil Engineer? Work in collaboration with the project design team to produce civil designs for wastewater treatment, infrastructure (water and sewer pipelines) and water projects. Develop new ways of working that focus on delivering outcomes, reducing carbon, protecting and increasing natural capital, addressing climate change, and embracing innovations and digital technologies. Grow your professional internal and external networks with partners within the @one Alliance. Broaden your skills by working collaboratively with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, Stakeholder Management, Environmental & Planning, and Construction Managers. Design civil components in accordance with British Standards, Eurocodes, water‑sector guidance and Anglian Water standards. Undertake hydraulic design of pipelines (pressure and gravity flow), flow in open channels and closed conduits. Design, schedule and specify pipes, including ductile iron, steelwork and plastic. Read drawings and models, produce clear design sketches for incorporation into a model. Provide input to specifications, proposals, work scope and schedules. Support design development from feasibility studies, optioneering and detailed designs. Assist in preparation of Engineering Project Plans. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets, and advise the Technical Manager of any deviations promptly. Respond to Design Queries and Design Change Requests during assembly of permanent works on site, considering cost, Health & Safety, programme, compliance and risk impacts. Prepare site investigation and survey requirements, attend and record survey findings. Ensure design output and procurement documentation meetappropriate standards and specifications and the Alliance Management System. Develop efficient designs that achieve project affordability, programme and carbon targets. Assist with the management of Tier 2 sub‑contractors and understand root cause analysis for solutions balancing capital and maintenance needs.
