We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief People Officer (CPO) to join the Executive Leadership Team in a part-time capacity (0.8 FTE). This pivotal role partners closely with the CEO, Board and senior leaders to shape organisational culture and drive the strategic direction of the employee experience, ensuring alignment with RSPCA WA’s mission and long‑term objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of the People, Safety & Culture strategy, ensuring integration with RSPCA WA’s overarching strategic plan and employee life cycle. Oversee compliance with all relevant employment, workplace and WHS legislation (federal and state‑based). Drive operational excellence within the People, Safety & Culture function, positioning it as a trusted partner and thought leader across the organisation. Act as the escalation point for complex performance management and employee relations matters, while also moving between People operations and People, Safety & Culture strategy on a daily basis. Lead industrial relations negotiations, including enterprise bargaining agreements. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across all levels of the organisation. Together with the Risk & Compliance Manager, oversee and drive a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to NFP governance from a people, culture and safety perspective. About You Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within a complex organisation. Proven ability to translate business strategies into actionable people strategies that deliver measurable results. Strong influencing skills and experience partnering with senior leaders to drive shared accountability for people initiatives. Deep knowledge of employment relations, Fair Work Act legislation, and industrial relations frameworks. Skilled in building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated success in creating efficient, high‑performing HR functions and developing HR professionals with strong business acumen. Why Join RSPCA WA?
