Backend Developer (QA)
PagoNxt Payments is Santander Group’s global payments platform, focused on providing tailored financial infrastructure for companies, banks and fintechs – both inside and outside the Santander ecosystem. With operations in more than 10 countries, our mission is to simplify payments and empower businesses through secure, flexible, data‑driven technology. We use a cloud‑native architecture to support international transactions, FX, multi‑currency accounts, regulatory compliance and fraud prevention, all under a unified approach. The team spans Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, the UK and Germany, building the future of payments at a global scale.
What you’ll do:

Develop microservices and test suites (unit, integration, regression).
Automate certification of integrations (APIs, queues, files) and integrate into CI/CD.
Design simulation and contract testing scenarios.
Document results and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

What we’re looking for:

3+ years of experience in Java / Spring Boot.
Experience with JUnit, Mockito and simulation tools (e.g., Hoverfly).
Knowledge of RabbitMQ, Kafka, IBM MQ and REST APIs.
Experience with Kubernetes (any flavor).
English: B2 level or higher.

Technology Stack – reference framework (applies to this role)

Public Cloud: AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable.
Kubernetes: EKS preferred; OpenShift/AKS/other flavors acceptable.
Microservices: Java 17+, Spring Boot; Apache Camel desirable.
Frontend: React (for frontend roles, Microfrontends with Module Federation).
Other languages (desirable): Python, Shell scripting, Node.js.
APIs & Security: Apigee Hybrid, OAuth 2.0, SSO/SAML, REST APIs; GraphQL desirable.
Asynchrony & Messaging: Events and message‑driven architectures; RabbitMQ, Kafka/Confluent, IBM MQ; AsyncAPI desirable.
Datastores: PostgreSQL (or any SQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Elastic).
Caching/State: Redis.
Object Storage: S3 (or compatible).
CI/CD & SCM: Concourse, GitHub (or equivalents).
Collaboration: Confluence, Jira.
AI tools (desirable): GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT.

What can earn you extra points:
